MBST magnetic resonance therapy.

A non-invasive therapy from Germany that some people choose alongside their rehabilitation. Here is what it is, what a session involves and our honest view of where it fits.

(01) What it is

The science of an MRI scanner, focused on one area.

MBST uses the same magnetic resonance principle as an MRI scanner. Instead of creating an image, the device is positioned over a specific part of the body, such as a knee, hip, ankle or the spine.

Some people with long-standing joint, bone and tendon problems choose to try it alongside their physiotherapy. It is available at At The Core, where Hauora is based.

(02) A session

Calm, quiet and painless.

  • About an hour

Each session lasts around 60 minutes. Read, listen to music or simply rest.

  • Several days in a row

A course is usually given over a number of consecutive days.

  • Nothing to feel

No needles, no heat and no pain. You lie comfortably on the couch.

(03) Is it right for you?

A treatment option to discuss, where indicated.

MBST is sought by many of our patients through recommendation or referral. As one of the few clinics in London specialising in MBST, our team can help you discuss whether it is right for you.
