Sports injuries
Whether you play on Sunday mornings or train for a marathon, you deserve the same quality of care as a professional.

Our team has spent decades looking after athletes at the highest level. We bring the same thorough assessment and clear planning to everyone, from parkrunners and five-a-side players to tennis players, skiers and gym-goers. The aim is simple: get you back to your sport safely, and stronger than before.
You might notice
- A sudden injury such as a sprain, strain or twist
- Pain that builds up gradually with training
- Pain that stops you training or competing
- An old injury that keeps coming back
- Uncertainty about when it is safe to return
Common causes
- Doing too much, too soon
- Previous injuries that were not fully rehabbed
- Strength or mobility gaps
- Changes in training, surface or equipment
- Not enough recovery between sessions

Your first appointment.
01
We listen
Your first appointment lasts an hour with a senior physiotherapist. We start by understanding your symptoms, your history, your work and what you want to get back to.
02
We find the cause
A thorough hands-on assessment of how you move, so we treat the cause and not just where it hurts.
03
You leave with a plan
You will understand what is wrong, how long it should take, and exactly what to do next, including treatment and exercises to start straight away.
Good questions.
Do I need to be an athlete to come to Hauora?
Not at all. Most of the people we see are not professional athletes. Anyone who wants to move well and stay active is welcome.
Can you help me prepare for an event?
Yes. We can help you build up for a race, season or challenge and reduce your injury risk along the way.
